Safety program

Safety program
LORDSTOWN -- The village police department is seeking donations for its Child and Drug Safety Education program.
The goal of the program is to keep children, from preschool to fifth grade, safe and drug free. Programs include pedestrian safety, drug education, bicycle safety, child molestation and abuse and peer pressure.
Checks should be made payable to the National Child Safety Council and mailed to or dropped off at the Lordstown Police Department, addressed to the attention of Chief William A. Catlin. The council is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.
Bike show
LORDSTOWN -- Forty employees of General Motors' Lordstown Metal Center, 2369 Bailey Road, will ride their motorcycles through the plant at 10 a.m. Tuesday in GM's second annual Harley Davidson Drive-In Bike Show. The event is part of a fund-raiser, which has raised $5,000 this year for the Make a Wish Foundation, which fulfills travel and other wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses. General Motors and the United Auto Workers union are national sponsors of the foundation.
