Girard toddler drowns
WARREN -- A 2-year-old Girard boy drowned in the swimming pool at a relative's home at 207 Laird Ave. N.E.
Antonio Cable died about 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Police reports say the boy was found in the pool by a family member. Police did not have any other details Friday but said there was no indication of foul play.
Graduating ... but barely
BOARDMAN -- Two Boardman High School seniors nearly missed graduation by failing to take a final exam for a global studies class.
The school system has a policy that final exams must be taken to get credit. The boys skipped class the day of the final, later telling school officials they were unaware the exam would be given that day.
After a special meeting Friday, Superintendent Don Dailey said the school board decided to allow the students to take the exam Friday.
Graduation is Sunday.
