YOUNGSTOWN -- Allison Heller of East Palestine has joined Van Fossan & amp; Associates as a new media designer. Heller has a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Youngstown State University and had been employed at Gocom Interactive Media Services. She has also worked as a catalog designer for a Columbiana County company and was a graphic design student supervisor with Graphics Services at YSU.
EDUCATION
YOUNGSTOWN -- Andrew Harver, a Youngstown native and professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, has been named interim associate dean of the university's graduate school. A UNC faculty member since 1991, Harver is a teacher and researcher specializing in experimental psychology as it relates to respiratory disease. Harver graduated from Ursuline High School in 1973, earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle and his doctorate in experimental psychology from Ohio University. He also held a postdoctoral fellowship at Dartmouth Medical School and a research assistant professorship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Harver, who now lives in Charlotte, has published 50 professional articles and book chapters related to asthma and other lung diseases and co-edited a book on asthma. He will be listed in the 2002 edition of Who's Who in America.
MANUFACTURING
HERMITAGE -- Roger Ferrante has been named president and chief operating officer of Forney Inc. of Hermitage, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of concrete testing products. Ferrante has been chief operating officer for the past year and joined the company five years ago as chief financial officer. He came to the company with 12 years experience in a variety of financial management roles with First Western Bank and Great Western Financial Corp.
REAL ESTATE
CANFIELD -- Patti Machuga of Austintown has been hired to join the sales staff at Century 21 Mill Creek Realty Group. She will be the company's site specialist at its new villa project at Kline's Farm in Liberty Township. She is a licensed Realtor and a member of the Youngstown-Columbiana Board of Realtors.
FINANCIAL
BOARDMAN -- Dan Henry Sr. has joined the Brennan Financial Group as a registered representative with New England Securities in the group's Boardman office. A Boardman resident, Henry has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
