CANCER SOCIETY Golf outing is planned by police

HOWLAND -- A golf outing will be held June 22 at Avalon South Golf Course in Howland to raise funds for the American Cancer Society's Camp Friendship program for local children.
Camp Friendship gives all children who have cancer or who are in cancer remission the chance to go to camp free of charge for one week during the summer. Children 7-15 and young adults 16-21 may attend one of three different camps in Ohio. The only cost to each child is transportation to and from the campsites.
The Youngstown Police Department is sponsoring the 10th annual event. Organizing the four-person scramble are Laura Brown, Fred LoSasso and John Patton.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and a shotgun start. A steak dinner and awards ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m.
Cost is $65 per person. For entry forms and further information call (330) 742-8917.
