NURSES CONTRACT
Details
Highlights of the nurses contract:
PAY: Raises of 4 percent immediately; Jan. 1, 2002; May 1, 2003.
HOURLY RATE: After the final pay raise, starting general duty nurses will earn $21.86 an hour and those with more than 15 years experience will earn $26.89 an hour, with steps in between. Assistant clinical nurse managers will earn between $23.21 an hour and $28.40 an hour. Shift differentials add extra pay for some shifts and weekend work.
OVERTIME: End of mandatory overtime in 18 months. Restrictions on it until then.
HEALTH: No premium payments for workers on health insurance.
SAVINGS: Company match of 25 percent of workers' contributions to 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plans. Match made up to 4 percent of workers' total pay.
TIME OFF: Days on strike count as time worked for seniority, vacation and sick time accrual and pay raises.
RECALL: All striking nurses will be recalled before new employees are hired.
VACATIONS: All vacations approved prior to May 1 and scheduled to be taken after the end of the strike shall be taken at those times. Vacations scheduled during the strike will be paid at the new pay rate.
