TRAILWOOD GARDENERS Officers for 2002 installed at annual Christmas luncheon



YOUNGSTOWN -- Installation of officers for 2002 highlighted the 47th annual Christmas luncheon and Guest Day held by Trailwood Gardeners Dec. 18 at the Youngstown Club.
Noreen Dornbrock, outgoing president, installed Jean Crisman, president; Linda DeLost, vice president; Margaret Yentch, secretary; and Dee Ringer, treasurer.
Committee chairwomen are Linda DeLost, program; Sharon Israel, civic beautification and community service; Ellen Dennison, ways and means; Jessie Torbron, sunshine; Ms. Dornbrock, publicity and historian; Janet Hutchison, telephone; Jill Yonata, nominating; and Marilyn Sutton, Forum Features reporter.
Betty Sandrock, outgoing vice president, introduced the speaker, Barbara Armstrong, who reviewed a Christmas book.
Background: Trailwood Gardeners, organized in 1954, meets the third Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is at 11 a.m. Jan. 15 at the home of Mary Jane Becherer for the annual soup making and auction. Co-hostesses will be Ms. Israel and Ms. Yentch.
The club's philanthropic projects for the next year include planting around the gazebo in Poland Village Hall, entertaining residents of the Blackburn Home in Poland and making contributions to the Garden Forum in Youngstown and Poland Village for Christmas decorations. The club also sponsors a garage sale to raise funds to support its projects.
Hostesses for the holiday luncheon were Ms. Dornbrock, Ms. Sandrock, Ms. Yentch and Ms. Ringer, 2001 officers. Ms. Israel gave the invocation.
