Dec. 30: 3:30 p.m., Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 328 S. Forest St., choirs, mime groups, dancing, skits and soloists from various Youngstown churches.
Dec. 30: 5 p.m., Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 505 Parkcliff Ave., minsterial interpretation of Kwanzaa's seven principles called in Swahili the Nguzo Saba, music, choirs and cultural expression. Church pastor is the Rev. Lewis W. Macklin II. A special tribute is planned for the Rev. Lonnie A. Simon, a pioneer of Kwanzaa celebrations in Youngstown.
Jan. 1: 5:30 p.m., McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road, black American vendors, an African naming ceremony, dancing, poetry, music by Harambee Youth and BICES Girl Power of Akron, and a community feast.
