YOUNGSTOWN -- A 19-year-old man told police a man he knew and invited into his home robbed him of $1,115 at gunpoint Tuesday in his home in the first block of East Auburndale Avenue.
When the victim turned his head to use the telephone, the robber pointed a 9 mm handgun at him and demanded money, the victim said.
The victim turned over $40 from his pocket, but the robber said he knew he had more money and threatened to shoot him, the victim said.
The victim said that he then went upstairs to a bedroom closet, followed by the robber, and turned over an additional $1,075.
Besides taking the cash, the robber took a loaded rifle from the victim's home and fled in a car with an unidentified driver at 11:40 a.m., the victim said.
