Two sworn in as Youngstown cops

YOUNGSTOWN -- Two men were sworn in as new members of the city police department Monday at a ceremony at city hall.
Brad DiTullio, 25, of Austintown, has served on the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department since 1998 and the St. Elizabeth Health Center police force since 1999. He the Western Reserve Police Academy from 1997 to 1998 and has an associate degree from Youngstown State University, where he attends classes. He is a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School.
Frank Bigowsky, 25, of Girard, graduated from the Youngstown State University police academy last December. He also received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from YSU last December. He is a Girard High school graduate.
Both officers begin service Thursday with five months of field training. Each will serve a one-year probationary period and are required to move to the city within one month of the close of their probation. They bring the total officers on the city force to 214.
They replace patrol officers Mark Bodo and Yvonne Wilson who left the department.
