Leetonia action: The Leetonia board is interviewing finalists and will meet Tuesday and Dec. 18 to complete the process, Treasurer Larry Syverson said.
He said the board tentatively plans to complete interviews Tuesday, then interview two finalists Dec. 18, hiring a superintendent Dec. 20 at its regular meeting.
Also being considered are Thomas A. Davis of Boardman, principal of Bell-Herron Middle School, Carrollton; Gregory Newell of Sherrodsville, principal of Southeast High School, Ravenna; and Jerry Wolf of North Benton, Waterloo schools' middle school principal, Atwater.
Leetonia Superintendent Lynn King died in September of complications from heart surgery.
Columbiana schools: Columbiana Board of Education will hire a superintendent Dec. 19.
Schools Superintendent Dr. Joseph Rottenborn, in the final year of a three-year contract, will retire later this month.
