Campus pastor named
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Rev. Dr. Paul A. Baglyos has been named the campus pastor at Thiel College. The Rev. Dr. Baglyos of Greenville, Pa., most recently served as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Penbrook in Harrisburg, Pa., since 1993. He served as the adjunct faculty and teaching parish supervisor at the Lutheran Theological Seminar in Gettysburg, Pa., from 1998 to 2001.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Office of Religious Education of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown has announced seven people recently completed the local Loyola University New Orleans Institute for Ministry Extension program.
Marge O'Malley, the parish director of religious education at St. Rose Parish in Girard, received a master's degree in Religious Education.
Sister Samia Abou-Shakra, AS, of St. Maron Parish, Youngstown; John Damico, director of the diocesean office of marriage and family life, Youngstown; Carla Hlavac, parish director of religious education, St. Patrick Parish, Youngstown; and Rose Naegeli, parish director of religious education, Our Lady of Peace Parish, Canton, received master's degrees in pastoral studies.
Gary Cox of St. Ambrose Parish, Garrettsville, and Alice Cosgrove, Blessed Sacrament Parish, Warren, received certificates of continuing education in pastoral studies. All were members of a learning group facilitated by Carlette Chordas, consultant for media resources, office of religious education, Diocese of Youngstown.

Prayer seminar
YOUNGSTOWN -- Christ Church Presbyterian is sponsoring a "Growing in Prayer Seminar" Sept. 7 to 9. The guest speaker will be Dr. Alan Leach, who is affiliated with the Presbyterian-Reformed Ministries International in Black Mountain, Ga. Holy Ghost revival
HUBBARD -- Pastor John L. Eldridge Sr., pastor of Family Worship Center in Youngstown, will be the speaker for a "Holy Ghost Revival" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Phillips Chapel Church of God in Christ. The choir from Family Worship Center will also take part. The event is sponsored by Ohio North First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Youngstown District 1 of Churches of God in Christ Inc.
Sanctuary dedication
LEETONIA -- The Leetonia Mennonite Church, 764 Columbia St., will dedicate its new sanctuary at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. A reception will follow. Memorabilia from the church's history will be on display.
Ecumenical picnic
CAMPBELL -- The Campbell Ecumenical Council of Churches will have a picnic that begins with praise music at 10:30 a.m. today in Roosevelt Park.
Relationship seminar
GREENFORD -- Greenford Christian Church will sponsor the "For Better or For Worse" program to teach couples how to resolve conflicts and improve their relationships.

Divorce recovery
WARREN -- Blessed Sacrament Parish will sponsor "Divorce and Beyond," a divorce support program that will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. for eight Mondays starting Oct. 1. The cost is $10, and financial help is available. Register by calling (330) 372-2215 by Sept. 26.
Vocal concert
NILES -- Recording artist Eric John Hawout of Mineral Ridge will perform sacred music at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church. The tenor sings a variety of traditional and southern gospel songs.
Free concert
YOUNGSTOWN -- Monica Phillips of Youngstown will present a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. She will record a new CD, "Destiny," during the event.

2001 operation
