YOUNGSTOWN -- Sign-language classes, ranging from children's to advanced levels, will be offered in September by the Community Center for the Deaf, 6614 Southern Blvd. Classes are $40. Luncheon for students
YOUNGSTOWN -- Twelve students in Youngstown State University's new master's degree-level nurse anesthetist program will be welcomed at a luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in the DeBartolo Stadium Club on the YSU campus.
The nurse anesthetist program is a new track being added to YSU's master of science degree in nursing program for the first time this year. The first 12 students, seven females and five males, will begin taking classes when fall semester classes begin Monday.
YSU has offered a master's degree in nursing with a chronic illness track for several years. The nurse anesthetist track is the second track to be offered. Dr. Patricia Hoyson, assistant professor of nursing and coordinator of the nurse anesthetist program, says most of the students are from Ohio and Pennsylvania, but some are from Florida, Oregon and Michigan.
