Acting chief to be named for schools

LEETONIA -- Because of the illness of schools Superintendent Lynn King, Leetonia Board of Education will name an acting superintendent at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The board interviewed Richard Selby, a retired administrator from Boardman, at a special meeting Monday. Treasurer Larry Syverson said King is hospitalized and his recovery time is uncertain. King could be absent several months, Syverson said.
The district is constructing a K-12 building that will replace three aging buildings. Leetonia pupils return to school Aug. 29.
"We need someone in place as the school year starts," Syverson said. "The building program is going well and everyone is excited about starting the last year in our old buildings."
