YOUNGSTOWN -- The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene W. Woodworth, 1953 Sequoya Drive, will be celebrated Aug. 26 during a family dinner party to be held at T.J.'s in Boardman.
Joining the couple for the event will be their son and his wife, Richard and Susan Woodworth of Youngstown, and their three grandchildren.
The former Martha Bence and Mr. Woodworth were married Aug. 27, 1941, at the home of the bride's parents in Youngstown.
Mr. Woodworth served five years with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific and European Theater of Operations during World War II. He retired from the Ohio Edison Co. in 1979 and is active in the Western Star Lodge 21, F. & amp; A.M.
Mrs. Woodworth, a former employee of the G. M. McKelvey Co., is a member of the Clotilda Club and Martha Circle of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, where she and her husband are parishioners. She is also a past mother adviser for the Youngstown Assembly 16, Order of Rainbow for Girls.
The Woodworths belong to Miriam Chapter 278, Order of Eastern Star, where Mrs. Woodworth has served as worthy matron. They also volunteer at Beeghly Oaks Nursing Home in Boardman and work on the Board of Election.
As part of their anniversary celebration, the Woodworths plan a trip to the west coast later this year.
