YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Community Health Center, 726 Wick Ave., was recognized by the Ohio Primary Care Association for its efforts to provide medical services to the medically uninsured and underserved.
PET Scan tests offered

Cancer awareness
The third annual gynecologic cancer awareness lecture, "Endometrial Cancer: Empowering Women through Information and Awareness," will be at 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at Leo's Ristorante, East Market Street, Howland, and 5 p.m. Sept. 25 at The Georgetown, South Avenue, Youngstown.
Dr. Masoud Azodi, director of gynecologic oncology at St. Elizabeth Health Center's Cancer Center, and Dr. Rashad El-Dabh, director of radiation oncology at Humility of Mary Health Partners, will speak at the event sponsored by HMHP, the American Cancer Society and the Blood and Cancer Center.
Cost is $15 and includes a buffet meal. Registration deadline is Sept. 11 for Leo's and Sept. 19 for The Georgetown. The program is open to the public and continuing education credits are available. Call (877) 700-4647.
Cancer patient supplies
CANFIELD -- The Mahoning Valley American Cancer Society, which serves Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, has free supplies for cancer patients who have no insurance or are underinsured.
Supplies include prosthesis and bras, bed pads, disposable diapers, wigs, laryngectomy bibs and turbans. The ACS office, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call (330) 533-0546 for information.
Well-Child clinic set
GIRARD -- A Well-Child immunization clinic, free to Girard City children, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the city health department, 100 W. Main St. Parents must bring a copy of the child's immunization record. Call (330) 545-6048 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to register or for more information.
