Recall: Nike cross-trainers
What: About 425,000 pairs of Nike Jordan Trunner cross-training shoes.
Reason: A thin metal strip on the outside of the heel can protrude and cut consumers. There have been six reports of injuries caused by protruding strips.
Description: The models under recall are the Trunner, Trunner Mid, Trunner Bubble and Trunner 2000. Models that do not have a metal heel clip are not affected by the recall.
Sold from: July 1999 through July 2001 at major athletic shoe and department stores nationwide for between $90 and $125.
What to do: Stop using the shoes immediately and contact Nike at (800) 344-6453 to receive free replacement shoes. Information on the recall also is available at nikebiz.com.
