WARREN -- A 45-year-old Riverview Northwest woman accused of domestic violence was scheduled for video arraignment today in municipal court. Police say the woman's 19-year-old son called them Tuesday night, saying his mother came home drunk, threatened everyone in the house, broke several items and struck him in the side with a shovel. She was in the Trumbull County jail this morning on a charge of domestic violence.
Injured man chargedafter being treated
WARREN -- A man who says he was assaulted with a rock was arrested early Tuesday after becoming disruptive while being treated for injuries.
Wayne C. Rodgers, 44, of Main Street Southwest, told police he got into an argument with someone he knows, who then hit him in the head and arm with a rock.
Rodgers was arrested a short time later after he became combative with health-care workers at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He is charged with disorderly conduct.
Police seek robber
WARREN -- Police are looking for a man they say robbed Elm Road Drive-In on Tuesday night. The robber, described as being white, about 6 feet tall and skinny, pulled a handgun on an employee at the front entrance, police said. The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt with green lettering. He fled on foot with mostly $5 and $10 bills.
Charged in stabbings
WARREN -- Thomas Reese, 21, of Athens Drive, Howland, remains in the Trumbull County jail under $25,000 bond, charged with two counts of felonious assault.
Police say Morgan Reese, 38, of the same address, was stabbed by Thomas Reese during an argument July 29.
Reports don't say how the two are related.
Morgan Reese ran outside and as Thomas Reese chased him, passer-by and neighbor Thomas Duley stopped his car and tried to intervene.
Thomas Reese then began stabbing Duley, police said.
Duley was able to get away and call police. No serious injuries were reported.
Thomas Reese waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday before municipal Judge Thomas Gysegem. His case was sent to the grand jury.
Youth Fest 2001
WARREN -- A dunking tank and music will be featured at Youth Fest 2001 from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Warren Morgandale Church of the Nazarene, 1961 Overland Ave. N.E.
Among the groups to perform are John Reuben, Candle Rain, Ohio Plastics and Orizon.
Admission is $3.
Air base donatescomputers to school
VIENNA -- A representative of Badger School District was to accept today a donation of 16 used computers and five printers from the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
The computers, which were replaced as part of routine upgrades at the base, will be put to use at Gustavus Elementary School in Farmdale, officials said.
Donation to mission
NILES -- Target stores of Niles has donated $1,560 to the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley in Youngstown.
In addition, Target employees will paint and do other maintenance work in the family services division of the mission Aug. 25.
