DAISY ELIZABETH MILEY, 76 Teacher in Wilmington School District
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home, New Wilmington, for Daisy Elizabeth Miley, 76, of 222 Carol Drive, who died Wednesday in Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle, after a short illness.
Mrs. Miley, known as "Dolly," was born March 10, 1925, in Beaver Falls, Pa., a daughter of John Q. and Daisy Dean Sayre.
A 1943 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a 1947 graduate of Geneva College, she retired as a teacher for the Wilmington Area School District. She was also a homemaker and a member of the New Wilmington Bowling League since 1963.
Besides her husband, Dr. Richard F., whom she married June 8, 1947, she leaves two daughters, Linda McNamara of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Rebecca Rosengarth of New Wilmington; a son, Richard of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Dr. John R. Patterson of Jefferson, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Ruth Balzer, a brother, William Q. Patterson, and a granddaughter are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
