THEODORE J. OBERMAN, 85

AUSTINTOWN -- Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, and at 9 a.m. in St. Christine Church, for Theodore J. Oberman, 85, of Humility House, formerly of Chapel Hill Drive, who died of a heart ailment early Wednesday at Humility House.
Mr. Oberman was born Nov. 21, 1915, in Auburn, N.Y., a son of John and Malvina Bojda Oberman.
A graduate of Youngstown Wilson High School, he was an inspector for Truscon Steel Division of Republic Steel for 42 years and retired in 1980.
He was a member of the church and Knights of Columbus of St. Stanislaus Church. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a musician, playing the accordion and piano.
His wife, the former Josephine M. Speiziale, whom he married Sept. 7, 1940, died Oct. 15, 1995.
He leaves a son, William J. of Naples, Fla.; three daughters, Geraldine Oberman of Chicago, Ill., Theodora Oberman of Austintown and Christine Kennehan of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Walter and Ben Oberman, both of Youngstown; three sisters, Ceil Oberman of Youngstown, Lillian Syms of Canfield and Josephine Godocsik of Campbell; and four grandchildren.
Two sisters, Bernice Chittock and Jennie Snyder, are deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
