CHALMERS F. COVER, 88 Owned a sawmill business; farmer



CORTLAND -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shafer-Winans & amp; Lamer Funeral Home for Chalmers F. Cover, 88, of 4384 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, who died Sunday evening in Cortland Quality Care Nursing Center.
Mr. Cover was born Aug. 11, 1912, in Fowler, a son of George and Eliza Manwell Cover.
He started farming and a sawmill business with his father and brothers in 1930, and also worked with his son in Cover Lumber and Supply from 1945 until he retired in 1975. A 1930 graduate of Fowler High School, he was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston, Mass.
His wife, the former Pauline Bean, whom he married Sept. 1, 1935, died July 12, 1984.
He leaves a son, David of Fowler, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Four brothers, Klahr, Gerald, and twins Harold and Herman, and a grandson, are deceased.
