DR. HARRY CLAY PRY, 90 Retired Westminster College professor
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, McKeesport, Pa., for Dr. Harry Clay Pry, 90, of The Shenango Home, 238 S. Market St., who died April 11 at the home.
Pry was born Sept. 12, 1910, in McKeesport, a son of Hugh and Bertha B. Ross Pry. He retired as professor at Westminster College in New Wilmington, where he served in the education department from 1960-76.
He was a member and past president of the honorary organization of Phi Delta Kappa. He received his bachelor's degree in 1933 from the University of Pittsburgh, and he also earned his master's degree and Ph.D. from that school.
He was a communications officer during World War II and participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands. He was a member of United Methodist Church in New Wilmington.
His wife, the former Lillian M. McLellan, whom he married Aug. 2, 1933, died Dec. 3, 1994.
He leaves a daughter, Kay P. Zaborowski of Newark, Del.; a son, Richard M. of Murrysville, Pa.; a sister, Ruth P. Squire of McKeesport, Pa.; a brother, Howard A. of McKeesport; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His twin brother, Hugh J., and a sister, Nellie, are deceased.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home, New Wilmington.
