Burglary stopped
YOUNGSTOWN -- A businessman stopped a break-in at his company, Brilex Industries, about 6:40 p.m. Sunday.
Brian Benyo told police he was driving on Interstate 680 to the Crescent Street business when he saw a pickup truck there that didn't belong in the lot.
He found the gate smashed in, and the pickup -- with two men inside -- came around the corner of the building, stopped and went back toward the rear.
Benyo blocked the gate with his vehicle and called 911.
Police found the pickup smashed into the fence and the men gone. A toolbox and grinder were in the pickup.
The building's rear door was open and a welder was loaded on a forklift.
The steering column on the pickup was damaged, but the vehicle had not been reported stolen.
