CANFIELD -- The Mahoning County Medical Society and Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance held their international dinner meeting March 23 at Tippecanoe Country Club.
During the annual event the alliance presented its Gavel Club's Gem of the Year Award to member Anita Gestosani.
Mrs. Gestosani has been active with the organization since 1980, serving as president from 1989-90 and treasurer from 1987-88. She also has served as chairwoman of the 1986 Family Christmas Party and the 1986 Doctors' Day.
Other memberships: A member of the Junior League of Youngstown since 1989, she has been co-chairman of its Mother-Daughter Brunch and served on the Angel Ball, Mentorship Youngstown Placement, Town Hall Series and 1990 Symphony Ball committees.
She serves on the American Cancer Society Swim-A-Long committee and on several committees with the YMCA and Canfield High School. She is a former member of the Junior Guild of St. Elizabeth Health Center.
She and her husband, Dr. Antonio Gestosani, reside in Canfield with their three children.
