COLUMBIANA -- Announced by Joan and Nick Burkert, 3505 W. Garfield Road, is the engagement of their daughter, Lori A. Burkert of the same address, and Christopher Davis, 109 S. Elm St., a son of Melanie Davis of Petersburg and Thomas Davis Sr. of Austintown.
Miss Burkert, a respiratory therapist at Salem Community Hospital, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in respiratory care.
Mr. Davis is employed at Concerte Construction in New Middletown.
The couple will be united in marriage during an open ceremony they have planned for 5:30 p.m. May 18 at the Outer Banks on Pine Island, N.C. A postnuptial reception will be held by invitation at 6 p.m. June 9 at The Barn in Salem.
