WILLARD GORDON FRYE, 74 Was commander of VFW Post 5532

COLUMBIANA -- Willard Gordon Frye, 74, of 1167 Columbiana-Lisbon Road, died Sunday morning in Wade Park Veterans Hospital, Cleveland.
Mr. Frye was born March 27, 1927, in Columbiana, a son of Grover D. and Olive Catherine Mentzer Frye, and lived in the area all of his life.
He was a machinist 40 years, having worked for the former NRM in Columbiana, Bliss Company in Salem and McDonnell-Douglas Co. He served in the Army during World War II.
His wife, the former Ramona McGath, is deceased.
He leaves three daughters, Cynthia Ann Wright of Austintown, Sandra Frye Leland of Salem and Amy Jane Frye of Mount Vernon; and two grandsons.
A daughter, Cheryl Ann Frye, and two sisters, Norma Catherine Molner and Janet Louise Frye, are deceased.
He was a member of Allen Masonic Lodge 276 and Youngstown Shrine Club and was a volunteer driver taking patients to Shrine hospitals. He was also a member of Benjamin Firestone American Legion Post 290, Columbiana, the 40 & amp;8 at Columbiana and was a life member of York Drexler VFW Post 5532, Washingtonville, where he had served as post commander.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the VFW.
