NICK S. DEPRIM, 81 In East High's All Sports Hall of Fame



CANFIELD -- Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Rossi Bros. Funeral Home, Boardman, and at 10 a.m. in St. Christine Church, Youngstown, for Nick S. DePrim, 81, of 3665 Indian Run Drive, who died Sunday morning at home.
Mr. DePrim was born April 19, 1919, in Youngstown, a son of Matteo and Josephine D'Agnillo DePrim.
He was an engineer and surveyor for the engineering department of Mahoning County for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran, serving in the Middle East.
He was a member of the church and its Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and of the Southside Bridge Club.
He was a 1938 graduate of East High School and received a bachelor's degree in science in 1941 from Newberry College in South Carolina, where he played varsity football for three years. He was inducted into East High School All Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
Besides his wife, the former Betty Hixenbaugh, he leaves five nephews whom he reared, Theodore, Anthony, John and Raymond Boggs, all of Youngstown, and Joseph R. Boggs of Canfield; and a brother, Tony DePrim of Youngstown.
Two brothers, John and Michael DePrim, and a sister, Mary Boggs, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home where the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will have a prayer service at 4:45 p.m.
