The Mackovicks honored for their 50th anniversary

Robert and Amelia Mackovick of Boardman recently celebrated their 50th anniversary during a luncheon at the Springfield Grille.

The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Robert (Tracy) Mackovick Jr., William (Mandy) Mackovick, Jennifer Mackovick, all of Boardman; and Julie Mackovick of Columbus. Two grandsons, Robert Mackovick III and Brandon Mackovick, complete their family.

Mr. Mackovick and the former Amelia Battaglini were married Feb. 15, 1969, at St. Anthony Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Mackovick was the head cook at the Paisley House in Youngstown until she retired in 2014.

Her husband was the plant protection manager for Republic Steel/LTV in Warren for 37 years. He retired in 2002.

Mr. Mackovick was an Air commando sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Panama Canal Zone and in Mountain Home, Idaho.
