Go Wild in the Park

A Sept. 7 “Go Wild in the Park” program will provide an opportunity for the public to participate in a drum circle. A drum circle is an activity that celebrates life, community and music-making. Attendees are welcome to participate. The circle will be led by Dan and Pam Susany who will guide the group in rhythms and rhythm-based activities.

The program will take place at the Orashan Band Shell at Waterworth Memorial Park from 2 to 3 p.m. Seating will be provided. Drums and other percussion instruments will be available or participants may bring their own. No experience is needed. This activity is free and open to the public. Registration is required and may be done online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or call the library at 330-332-0042 or the Salem Parks Department at 330-271-8913 for assistance.

Book group to meet

SALEM

The Salem Public Library Book Discussion Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 821 E. State St., in the Quaker room. The book to be discussed will be, “The Scarlet Letter,” by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. The book available to borrow at the library. For information, call the library at 330-332-0042.
