Car wash to help pay for victim's burial

AUSTINTOWN

A benefit car wash will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 5225 Mahoning Ave., to help with burial expenses for Robert Vanderpool, 37, who was fatally shot May 12 in Youngstown. His mother was injured in the shooting and can’t afford the cost of burying her son, the father of five.

Cars will be washed for a minimum $5 donation. Baked goods, “Knock off the Violence” T-shirts, beverages and chocolate suckers will be sold. Those who can’t go to the car wash but still wish to donate should email Patrick Hagerty at pmhagerty35@gmail.com
