Mobile mammograms Tuesday at MYCAP

The MammoVan visits the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership offices, 1325 Fifth Ave., at 9 a.m. Tuesday to provide mammograms for women 40 and older.

Early detection of breast cancer is one of the keys to treatment and long-term survival. The MammoVan is a mobile mammography unit. All women 40 and older should have an annual screening mammogram.

A physician’s prescription and insurance card need to be presented at the time of appointment. The van has private changing rooms and female technologists who perform the safe, painless low-dose X-ray with state-of-the-art equipment.

Women interested in getting their mammogram must bring their medical insurance card, a doctor’s prescription, the doctor’s mailing address and phone number.
