The role of the arts in thriving communities will be explored at a discussion from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Raymond John Wean Foundation offices, 147 W. Market St.

Participants include Robb Hankins, a Canton arts official; and Bryan DePoy, dean of Youngstown State University College of Fine and Performing Arts.
