“BEHIND THE CANDELABRA” (9 p.m., HBO): Odds are you won’t be able to take your eyes off director Steven Soderbergh’s luridly entertaining peek into the relationship between legendary pianist Liberace (Michael Douglas) and his much younger lover Scott Thorson (Matt Damon). The film follows the two men from their first meeting to the fallout of the 1982 palimony suit Thorson filed when Liberace broke things off, with lots of juicy drama — and crazy costumes — in between.

“Smash” (9 p.m., NBC): The ratings-challenged, Broadway-themed drama closes the curtains on its two-season run tonight.
