Diamondback offers golf clinics

Diamondback Golf Course will host golf clinics for boys and girls in grades 3-8 June 11, 18 and 25. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $50 per day or $120 up front for all three sessions. The clinics will feature guest instructors, Boo Timko, Ohio State and All Big Ten golfer. Checks can be made payable to Diamondback GC.

High school offers physicals

Physical examinations for next year’s sports teams are being offered at Canfield High School May 30 starting at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $7. Examination forms may be picked up in advance at the CHS athletic office. For additional information, call 330-533-5341.

Memorial mile race set

The 23rd annual Memorial Mile running road race will be May 27 at 9:35 a.m. in Boardman. The race will start at Routes 22 and 7. In this one-mile road race, some of the best runners in the area will compete for gift certificates and awards in 14 age groups. The entry fee is $8 in advance and $10 on the day of race. Runners 11 and under are free with pre-registration.

Entry forms, day of race registration and packets can be picked up at Walgreens at Route 224 and Route 7. The race is sponsored by Walgreens, Quaker Steak and Lube, the DeBartolo Corporation, Armstrong, Hill Barth and King and other local businesses. Benefit golf outing set

The Brett Wilcox benefit golf outing will be July 21 at Lakeside Golf Course. The shot gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per golfer or $250 for a foursome and includes coffee and doughnuts at registration, lunch, dinner and drinks. Sponsorships are available for $100 for a hole sponsor or $350 for a gold sponsor.

First place will receive $400, while second place will receive $200. In addition, there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a 50-inch TV raffle.
