Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers to receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned the following: June 5, annual card and bingo party from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person and includes lunch. Square tables for four or round tables for up to 8 are available. Reservations are required. July 25, shopping day at Hartville, includes lunch and all tax and gratuities at the Hartville Kitchen. The itinerary will allow for shopping at Hartville Collectibles, the new Hartville Hardware and the Indoor/Outdoor Flea Market. Also included is a free 6-inch pie from the Hartville Kitchen Bakery and a free snack at the Hartford Flea Market Snack Shop. The bus will leave Niles at 8:30 a.m. and return at approximately 4:30 p.m. The cost is $55. Reservations are required by June 14. Payment in full is due two weeks before the event. Shepherd of the Valley is inviting mature drivers age 60 or older to sign up for the AAA Safe Driving for Mature Operators Course. The state-certified course can qualify participants for auto insurance discounts. Registration is required. The cost is $10 for AAA members and $15 for nonmembers.
