Women of Distinction luncheon is scheduled

Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. will present The Bethune-Height Women of Distinction Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 25 at the Brentford House, 737 Myron Ave.

Donations are $25 each.

The 2013 honorees are Geneva Mason of Mason Funeral Home and Lynn Phillips of the L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.

Ruthie King of Price Memorial AME Zion Church will be the speaker.

Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune founded the nonprofit NCNW in 1935 with the collaboration of 28 National Affiliate Organizations to improve the quality of life for women and their communities.

Yvonne Wilson is president of the Youngstown Section.
