Ohio man gets life for child rape

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A judge has sentenced a 40-year-old eastern Ohio man to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to raping a child.

WTOV-TV reports that Jared Tittle was sentenced Monday in Belmont County, ending a three-year case against him. He pleaded guilty last month to raping a child younger than 13, which authorities said occurred in September 2010.

A prosecutor said the investigation began when the Bellaire man used a West Virginia public library computer to show pictures of him with a child over the Internet and to discuss those acts with others.

The prosecutor said a woman still faces a charge of permitting child abuse in the case.
