Brookfield schools declared in fiscal emergency

Ohio Auditor Dave Yost’s office has declared Brookfield Schools in fiscal emergency.

The declaration came a week after voters were asked to approve a 4.85 mill-levy for current expenses. Totals are unofficial, but votes in favor lead by three. Votes must be recounted. The district has been in fiscal watch since 2006.
