‘Star Trek’ movie on IMAX screen

PITTSBURGH

“Star Trek: Into Darkness” will be shown at the Rangos Omnimax Theater screen at the Carnegie Science Center, starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The movie opens nationwide Friday; Wednesday and Thursday shows are only at IMAX theaters.

“Star Trek: Into Darkness” (PG-13) will play at the Rangos Omnimax — the biggest screen in the region and the only dome screen — through June 13. Tickets are $12 during opening week (Wednesday through Sunday) and $11 thereafter.

The Rangos Omnimax Theater, a four-story, state-of-the-art IMAX Dome Theater, is one of only 50 theaters of its kind in North America. It’s about 4,000 times bigger than the average home television and has 15,000 watts of sound.

Artists sought for Morley shows

YOUNGSTOWN

Mill Creek MetroParks will add an Art Walk to its summer concert series, Live! at the Morley (formerly known as Summerfest Spectacular). Located at the Judge Leo P. Morley Pavilion at the Wick Recreation Area, Live! at the Morley concerts will run from June 12 through Aug. 28, Wednesday nights, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and are free to attend.

Artists can share and sell their art at the concerts from 6 to 9 p.m. To download an application, go to millcreekmetroparks.org. Application and registration fees are being discounted for a limited time.
