NAACP unit sets membership event

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown NAACP Unit will mark its annual membership kick-off program at 4 p.m. May 19 at the Third Baptist Church, 1177 Park Hill Drive.

The theme is “We Shall Not Be Moved.” Keynote speaker will be Jocelyn L. Travis, NAACP Ohio state secretary. She serves as adviser of the Cleveland NAACP Youth Council and the Ohio Youth and College Division, as well as secretary of the Ohio Conference NAACP and district coordinator.

Accompanying her will be youth officers of the Cleveland Youth Chapter, who will speak briefly about their NAACP involvement and how the ACT-SO Program has affected their lives.
