METRO DIGEST || Drug disposal day Wednesday in Warren

Drug-disposal day

WARREN

A drug disposal day will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District offices at 5138 Enterprise Drive.

Trumbull County residents are asked to drive up and drop off expired, unwanted or unused prescriptions. This disposal method is better than flushing them down the toilet because trace amounts of drugs have been detected in the drinking water of 41 million Americans.

Medications accepted include pills, capsules, patches, gels, powders, ointments, syrups, vitamins, inhalers and pet medications. Keep drugs in original containers or in sealed plastic bags. Medications and instruments not accepted are needles, syringes, lancets, thermometers, IV bags, aerosol cans and hydrogen peroxide.
