Sulmona Energy LLC has teamed up with Retrain America to offer Shale Exploration Certification.

From May 20 to 24, basic landman training will be offered at the YSU Metro College at 100 DeBartolo Place.

Oil and gas companies rely on landmen to secure land through leasing efforts, among other things. The five-day course, offered in partnership with KK&C Endeavors of Canton, will allow attendees to learn the basics of leasing operations, title research and the oil and gas industry.

Free pie for moms at O’Charley’s

WARREN

Covelli Enterprises has announced that its five O’Charley’s restaurants in three states, including Ohio, will serve a free slice of pie to any mother Sunday.

The offer is valid throughout the entire day, with stores opening early at 9 a.m. for brunch on Mother’s Day.

Mothers will be able to choose from all O’Charley’s fresh-baked pies.

Fire personnel participate in training workshops

COITSVILLE

Members of the Coitsville and Springfield Township volunteer fire departments participated in the Responding to Oilfield Emergencies training workshops hosted by the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program in April and May.

Firefighters with both departments were among 70 participants from 21 Ohio fire departments to learn how to respond to potential drilling and production site emergencies and other response resources over the two-day training workshop.
