Labyrinth walks

VILLA MARIA, Pa.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center has planned labyrinth walks. Sister Therese Pavilonis and Sister Stella Schmidt will offer a history and introduction.

Walks planned are 2 to 4 p.m. May 19, path of mindfulness; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 19, path of hope; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 24, path of oneness; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 21, path of compassion; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 18, path of peace; and 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 20, path of gratefulness.

Registration is not required but is appreciated.

Free-will offerings will be accepted.

Participants should meet at the outdoor labyrinth.

In case of inclement weather, call 724-964-8886 to confirm the walk will take place.

St. Dymphna feast

Massillon

There will be a Mass and procession at the national shrine of St. Dymphna at 3 p.m. Wednesday, her feast day, at St. Mary Church, 206 Cherry Road NE, part of the Diocese of Youngstown.

St. Dymphna is the saint of stress and anxiety. She is said to heal those with these afflictions.

More than 400 followers are expected to attend the Mass.

The Rev. Ed Grechko will unveil the new painting of St. Dymphna.

Healing services

Covenant Life Fellowship, 5900 West Liberty St. (Route 304), will host healing services at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. May 19 with the Rev. Jason Jablonski, who has a weekly broadcast called “Faithsteps” on 95.9 FM in Canton.

Musical event

The eighth annual musical event “Come Christians, Join to Sing” is planned at 7 p.m. May 19 in First Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Jefferson St.

The program will be directed by Steve Pridon.

Featured will be Ringers and Singers and children’s choir of the host church, Third Presby-terian Church choir, Sheet and Tube Brass Quartet and soloists Cindy McMillan-Houston and Pastor Nathan Loudon. Allison Rodgers will sign songs.

A free-will donation will benefit New Castle City Rescue Mission. Refreshments will follow.

Spring revival

Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave. SW, will host a spring revival, “The Pentecost Experience,” to celebrate Pentecost Sunday.

Services will begin at 7 p.m. Friday with guest speaker Pastor Judah Early of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church of Cleveland. At 7 p.m. next Saturday, guest speaker will be Pastor James Bowie of Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Youngstown and conclude on Pentecost Sunday at 11 a.m. May 19 with guest speaker Elder Alfie Burch of Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ.

New position

Sister Agnes Knapik was appointed administrator of Byzantine Benedictine Sisters, Queen of Heaven Monastery, 169 Kenmore NE. She will assume the new post at the end of the month. Sister Margaret Mary Schima, current administrator, will move to Sacred Heart mother house in Lisle, Ill.
