Sebring man gets prison term in meth case

YOUNGSTOWN — A Sebring man is going to prison for four years after he pleaded guilty to illegal drug manufacture for assembling materials in his apartment which could have been used to establish a methamphetamine lab.

Shawn Carver, 27, of West Indiana Avenue, received the definite sentence today from Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court immediately after entering his plea to the Jan. 3 offense.

The sentence is not appealable because it was agreed to by the prosecution and defense and adopted by the judge.

Carver also is not legally eligible for early judicial release, said Nicholas Brevetta, an assistant county prosecutor. He will be on parole for three years after prison. Judge Krichbaum imposed on him a four-year driver’s license suspension.
