OH WOW! kids center will mark anniversary

The OH WOW! Children’s Center for Science and Technology will mark its second anniversary this weekend with discounted admission, additional hands-on activities, free cake and popcorn, a chance to win prizes and more.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. OH WOW! is at 11 W. Federal St., downtown. For information, go to ohwowkids.org or call 330-744-5914.

Since opening, OH WOW! has welcomed more than 70,000 visitors, offering interactive exhibits and educational programs rooted in science, technology and math.

Visitors this weekend will be able to vote on their favorite entry in the CAKE-Itecture Contest.

On Saturday, pop artist and comic-book creator Chris Yambar will be present from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yambar will debut the new Simpsons comic “Professor Frink #1” with 3-D glasses. Guests can purchase the book for $6. A portion of the proceeds will benefit OH WOW!

A hurricane chamber photo booth will be featured Sunday.
