BREAKING NEWS: Woman charged in death of cop headed back to Pennsylvania

YOUNGSTOWN — The woman charged in the traffic death of a Shenango Townshp police officer earlier this month will be headed back to Pennsylvania to face the charges against her.

Kylie Barletto, 26, waived her right to an extradition hearing this afternoon before Judge James C. Evans of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. She will return to Pennsylvania on Monday, as ordered by Judge Evans.

Barletto, of New Castle, was allegedly fleeing from police May 2 when she hit a patrol car containing Officer William J. McCarthy IV who was killed in the accident.

Barletto was released Monday from St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown to Mahoning County jail to await her extradition to Pennsylvania.
