Sheriff: Rural Calif. man killed wife and 2 girls

SHINGLETOWN, Calif. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials say a man killed his wife and 4-year-old and 8-year-old daughters in rural Northern California.

Shasta County Sheriff’s officials released the victims’ identities and relationship to the suspect today, a day after the killings six miles west of Shingletown.

The suspect, 45-year-old Shane Franklyn Miller, remains on the loose.

Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Kent says Miller killed his 34-year-old wife, Sandy, and two daughters, 4-year-old Shasta and 8-year-old Shelby.

Authorities have not said how they were killed.

They have released a photo of Miller and say he may be driving a gold-colored 2010 Dodge Mega Cab pickup with a camper shell. He’s considered armed and extremely dangerous.
