Foster care walk open to all families

YOUNGSTOWN

A 2K event titled Walk, Stroll and Roll for Foster Care will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday downtown in the rear parking lot of Mahoning County Children Services, 222 W. Federal St.

The family-oriented event, which will end at 2 p.m., will promote awareness of children’s need for foster care.

Community members are invited to walk the sidewalks downtown.

Registration is $10 for adults, $5 for children or $30 per family. A Kids Workshop, storytelling and a visit from the Youngstown Fire Department are planned. A crawl-through bouncer, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, crafts and games also will be featured. Free hotdogs will be given out, additional food will be sold, and a basket raffle is planned.
