Boardman Relay for Life May 17

The 20th annual Boardman Relay for Life is from 6 p.m. May 17 through 6 p.m. May 18 at Boardman Center Middle School – Football Stadium, 7410 Market St.

Over the past 19 years, the Boardman relay has raised more than $4 million in the American Cancer Society event for research and programs and services. In 2012, the Boardman Relay finished second in money raised among Ohio Relay events.

The relay begins at 6 p.m. May 17 with open ceremony including remarks from a cancer survivor followed by the survivors lining the track for the opening lap. After sundown comes the Luminaria Ceremony when candles are lighted to honor the community’s cancer survivors and remember those lost to the disease.
