Police: Man finds decaying money in W. Pa. woods

CLARION, Pa.

State police are trying to find the owner of a large stash of decaying cash that was found in some western Pennsylvania woods.

Troopers from the barracks in Clarion say the money was found in Highland Township, about 60 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Gary Rex told WPXI-TV that he was walking from his camp and found the money in an old tree stump and some scattered on the ground.

Police have traced the serial numbers and there are no reports the money has been stolen.

Police aren’t saying how much money is there because they want whoever claims it to provide that information.

It wasn’t immediately clear if police are releasing the dates the money was printed.

Pa. man to stand trial in deer shooting from Walmart lot

BLAIRSVILLE, Pa.

A western Pennsylvania man who reportedly shot a deer from a busy Walmart parking lot on the first day of rifle season last year has been ordered to stand trial on reckless endangerment and state game charges.

Forty-year-old Arcangelo “Angelo” Bianco Jr., of Derry Township, would say only, “The truth will come out” after his preliminary hearing recently in Blairsville.

Wildlife conservation officers say Bianco fired several shots in the parking lot, causing trailers being unloaded by employees to be spattered with deer blood. Bianco reportedly continued shooting at the fleeing deer, which he retrieved from the side of Route 22 opposite the store, about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Among other things, authorities say Bianco violated the law by firing a weapon within 150 yards of an occupied structure — violating a state “safety zone” law.

Mexico City subway baby will get to ride free for life

Who says there’s no such thing as a free ride?

Mexico City’s mayor says a baby boy born in one of the city’s subway stations will be allowed to ride the trains free for life.

The baby’s 22-year-old mother was trying to take the subway to the hospital when she went into labor recently.

Subway employees, police and para-medics helped her give birth in an entryway to a platform.

Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera wrote in his Twitter account that the baby boy will have the right to ride the subway free for life.

Subway tickets in Mexico City cost three pesos, or 25 cents, for an unlimited ride.
