Children: Victoria A. McElroy of Youngstown; Deborah L. McElroy of Virginia Beach, Va.; Jerome (Jake) McElroy of Philadelphia; and Lorraine McElroy Andrews of Patterson, Calif. Delores Jewel and Richard (Butch) McElroy are deceased.

Grandchildren: 11.

Great-grandchildren: 8.

BACKGROUND

Education: Youngstown public schools.

Employment: Mahoning County Nursing Home, from where she retired in 1989, and the Mahoning County Board of Elections.

Memberships: Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church for more than 60 years, its Women’s Missionary Society and the NAACP.

Sewing, crafts: Mrs. McElroy enjoyed these hobbies and has passed the skills on to her daughters.
